At the heart of Rachel Berwick's art is her interest in our relationship with the natural world. She confronts us with our involvement, with the finality of changes created by human tampering. Berwick reminds us of how much is at stake as species slip into oblivion and no amount of human intervention can restore them. Her work has been seen at The Aldrich in A River Half Empty: Artists Engage Connecticut's Environment (2000), Voice & Void, (2008), and Prima Materia: The Periodic Table in Contemporary Art (2023).
