Published on the occasion of Sheehan’s exhibition at The Aldrich, this publication features an essay by Glenn Adamson, the exhibition’s curator.
Zoë Sheehan Saldaña created the lamp black pigment utilized to print the publication’s cover. The artist burned linseed oil, collected the resulting soot, and worked with the technicians at GHP Media (the printers of the catalogue) to formulate a custom black ink suitable for offset printing. The resulting publication can be considered a work in the exhibition, as well as an example of Sheehan’s collaborative process.
